NEWARK – Whitney Houston’s funeral will take place in New Jersey on Saturday following the arrival home of her body late on Monday to her birthplace, Newark.
The service, in the New Hope Baptist Church, where as a child she honed her singing skills, will be private.
A spokeswoman for the Whigham Funeral Home said there would be no wake. Houston (48) died last Saturday in her hotel room in Los Angeles. She was found in her bath. Although she had a history of chronic drug and alcohol abuse, police remain unsure as to the cause of her death. – (Reuters)
