A number of rooms at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin city centre were evacuated last night after the gas in a fridge exploded in a third-floor bedroom. It emitted a very pungent gas.

The fire brigade was called to the scene shortly after 11pm. Six pumps and a ladder arrived at the scene.

Nobody was injured in the incident. Guests were returned to their rooms within the hour.
