A new out patient department at Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin was opened yesterday by the Minister for Health, Mr Noonan.

The building, which adjoins the original and recently refurbished facilities, will provide for up to 43,000 visits each year. The Department of Health provided £500,000 towards the £800,000 project. The remainder was raised by the Sisters of Charity. "We are delighted with this new structure which will go a long way to alleviating our previous problem of insufficient accommodation and overcrowding," said the chairman of the hospital's board of management, Mr Justice Richard Johnson.
