Tegucigalpa - The first exit poll carried out after voting in yesterday's presidential elections in Honduras put the ruling Liberal Party 17 per cent points ahead of its National Party rivals. The result, if backed up by electoral counts, means the Liberal Party's Mr Carlos Flores (47) is likely to be the next president of this impoverished Central American republic, defeating Ms Alba Nora Gunera, the widow of a former military dictator who is standing for the National Party.
