Police arrested and questioned several people in the operation, which began early this morning.

A spokesman said several items had been acquired as evidence.

Investigators believe the Duisburg shootings, which took place outside an Italian restaurant, were the latest chapter in a long-running feud between two clans in the Italian region of Calabria, home to the 'Ndrangheta crime syndicate.

The victims were buried in southern Italy on Thursday at a ceremony with heavy police protection.
