The British army bomb squad has carried out a controlled explosion on a suspicious object found in Lurgan.

The British army bomb squad has carried out a controlled explosion on a suspicious object found in Lurgan.

The security alert began shortly after 9pm last night when the object was discovered under a bridge in Tullydagan Road. Residents of three houses were evacuated.

Cross-border rail services were also disrupted with Enterprise passengers being taken by bus between Belfast and Newry.
