Homes evacuated in Derry

Up to 40 homes were evacuated in Derry last night following the discovery of a suspect device.

Up to 40 homes were evacuated in Derry last night following the discovery of a suspect device.

Police were called to Comore Gardens at about 9.40pm.

Early indications were that the device was thrown into a car.

Residents were taken to a nearby community centre while a British army bomb disposal team attended the scene.
