LONDON - A homeless man who was arrested for the rape and murder of a British schoolgirl last month in western France has denied confessing to, the crime, the Daily Mirror says.

Patrice Pade, who was freed after genetic tests proved he did not rape Caroline Dickinson, reportedly told the tabloid that French police had twisted his statements into a confession.
