London - The Moors murderer Myra Hindley faces the prospect of emergency surgery to cure a potentially fatal brain swelling, it emerged yesterday. Doctors say Hindley (57), who has been rushed to hospital twice in the past two weeks, is suffering from a cerebral aneurysm - caused by an artery swelling up at the base of the brain.

Hindley, who has spent 33 years in prison, is a 40-a-day smoker and has been dogged by ill health.
