LONDON - A Labour government would rename the Department of National Heritage - if it can agree what to call it, the Shadow National Heritage Secretary, Mr Jack Cunningham, revealed yesterday at a news conference to launch Labour's arts strategy paper.

The Department of National Heritage was set up by Mr Major in 1992 to oversee Britain's cultural and sporting life and under its first secretary of state, Mr David Mellor, quickly acquired the nickname Ministry of Fun.
