Two women, one from Co Dublin and the other from Co Limerick, have been made undisclosed awards for damages by the Hepatitis C compensation tribunal.

Ms Anne Marie McCrystal, a solicitor with Lavelle and Coleman, said neither of her clients wished the amounts to be disclosed.

She said the Co Dublin mother had not shown any indication of viral activity, but had suffered from fatigue since having been treated with infected blood 19 years ago. The Co Limerick woman, also treated in 1977, had complained of fatigue, depression and pains in her joints, she said.
