In response to the O'Rourke case the Eastern Health Board last night announced details of a free phone line "staffed by trained counsellors for victims and their families who may have been affected by abuse".

The telephone numbers are: 1800-245-555 and 1800-246-666. The EHB said the service will operate "for a period of one week initially" from next Monday to Friday inclusive, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Next Tuesday and Wednesday it will also operate from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
