Prague - The new Czech Prime Minister, Mr Josef Tosovsky, pledged after his cabinet team was sworn in yesterday to give new impetus to economic reform and privatisation and to fight crime and corruption.

President Vaclav Havel formally appointed Mr Tosovsky's 16 ministers, who were named on Wednesday, at a brief ceremony in Prague Castle. Mr Tosovsky's government would bring "new spirit, new dynamics and renew the confidence of citizens in a democratic system and politics", Mr Havel said.
