Irish road hauliers are to help the Revenue Commissioners in new measures to curb drug smuggling.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by the Irish Road Haulage Association, on behalf of its 4,700 members, and the Revenue Commissioners at Dublin Castle yesterday, which will make it easier for hauliers to report suspicious activity. Besides drugs, the agreement covers other illegal products.
