The Progressive Democrats leader, Ms Mary Harney accused the health boards of putting jobs at risk because they were slow in paying opticians.
Speaking at the launch of Optica Expo 96, the trade show of the Confederation of Optical Suppliers Ireland yesterday, she said some health boards were taking over a year to pay. They created problems for opticians unable to pay suppliers.
