Legislative elections in Haiti that had been scheduled for February 28th will be postponed, President Rene Preval said today, due to the January 12th earthquake that killed up to 200,000 people.

"The electoral campaign should have opened tomorrow, and for obvious reasons, that won't be able to happen," Mr Preval said in an interview at his temporary office.
