Vienna - Austrian far-right leader, Mr Jorg Haider, has accused President Thomas Klestil of causing a "state crisis" by refusing to ask him to form a government and said he would start talks with the conservative People's Party.

Mr Haider, whose Freedom Party came second in last October's election, reacted angrily to the president's decision on Friday to ask the Austrian Chancellor and Social Democratic leader, Mr Viktor Klima, to try to form a minority government.
