Haafhd (12-1) returned to the scene of his greatest triumph to land the £350,000 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket today.
Winner of the 2000 Guineas back in May, the Barry Hills-trained colt hit the front a furlong and a half out as the brave front-running mare Chorist finally gave way.
The son of Alhaarth, who travelled supremely well throughout, had two and a half lengths to spare over Chorist at the line with Ireland's Azamour running on for third, a further length back.
