Mr Graham Turley, husband of the murdered crime journalist Veronica Guerin, accepted an award on her behalf yesterday during the sixth annual Pence and Justice Week, which is being held in St Angela's School, Waterford.
An award was also made to the 1991 Nobel Prize winner, Ms Aung San Suu Kyi, who is under house arrest in Burma. The awards are given to "World Famous Women Activists".
