The Coalition of Communities Against Drugs (COCAD) and the United Farmers' Association have agreed to cooperate in an effort to improve the quality of life in urban and rural communities.

A joint statement said drug abuse had spilled over into rural areas. Urban and rural areas could profit by supporting each other and "jointly addressing issues of social and economic marginalisation and exclusion".
