Genetic Concern, an organisation which campaigns against genetic engineering, has welcomed Fianna Fail's &all for a moratorium on the release of genetically modified organisms into the environment and on the marketing of foods containing genetically modified ingredients.
The party also called for full disclosure labelling, which would allow consumers to make informed choices about what they eat and help in the diagnosis of health problems.
