ONE of the parties involved in the multi-party talks and the Northern Ireland Forum has called for the release of Ms Roisin McAliskey on bail.

The Northern Ireland Women's Coalition said yesterday it was making the plea on humanitarian grounds. Ms McAliskey, who is more than five months pregnant, is on remand in Britain awaiting extradition to Germany on charges relating to the bombing of a British army barracks.

The coalition said independent medical reports showed Ms McAliskey's pregnancy was being complicated by her digestive and muscular disorder and stress-related asthma, along with prison conditions.
