Ground rents are feudal, TD says

Ground rents were a feudal relic that had no place in a modem state, Ms Kathleen Lynch TD (Democratic Left) said yesterday. As more householders reached the end of their leases, Ms Lynch expressed concern they would face demands they could not meet. She called for legislation to convert ground rents into commercial debts.
