Alan Greenspan is expected to be appointed senior adviser to Deutche Bank today.

The former Federal Reserve chairman has been appointed to the position of senior adviser to Deutsche Bank's corporate and investment bank unit, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Mr Greenspan (81) served as the head of the Federal Reserve for almost two decades and since his retirement runs consulting firm Greenspan Associates.

Mr Greenspan cited personal reasons, including his good relationship with Peter Hooper, chief US economist with Deutshe Bank Securities, for the decision to act as adviser to Deutsche Bank, according to the Journal.
