The Green Party said yesterday that Fine Gael and other political parties who have put up posters even before the general election is called should be prosecuted under the Litter Act. Mr Gerry Boland, a candidate in Dublin South, said Fine Gael was abusing its control of the timing of the election.

The Green Party has named four western candidates to run in the general election. They are Ms Liz Cullen (Donegal south west), Ms Anne Crowley (Mayo), Mr Pat Fitzpatrick (Galway West) and Mr Brian Meaney (Clare).
