The bail amendment could result in people being imprisoned for the most trivial of offences, according to the Green MEP for Leinster, Ms Nuala Ahern. "The inclusion of public order offences could mean that protesting in public at a decision the government of the day has taken could result in people being held on remand," she said in a statement.
