ANKARA - A Greek coastguard vessel opened fire on a Turkish speed boat, killing a fisherman on board who had smuggled a group of Iraqi illegal immigrants to a Greek island, Anatolian news agency said yesterday.
The Turkish agency said the Greek vessel fired on the boat on Sunday evening after it had ignored warning shots. Another Turkish fisherman in the speedboat was wounded, the agency said.
