Athens - An opinion poll has shown Greece's two main parties running neck and neck before the April 9th general elections, with the ruling socialists holding a slim 0.6 per cent lead over conservative New Democracy.

The poll, conducted for the Ethnos newspaper, showed 34.5 per cent support for the PASOK socialists, while 33.9 per cent of those polled gave their backing to the New Democracy party.
