ATHENS - Greece rejected yesterday a European Union proposal calling on Greek and Turkish experts to meet this month to help resolve thorny differences between the two Balkan neighbours.

The Foreign Minister, Mr Theodoros Pangalos, rejected as "pointless" the sending of experts to a meeting on May 26th to 28th in the Netherlands, proposed by the Dutch Foreign Minister, Mr Hans Van Mierlo, current head of the EU General Affairs Council.
