ANKARA - The Greek Foreign Minister, Mr Theodoros Pangalos, said yesterday he would consider withdrawing Greek troops from "areas around Turkey" if Ankara agrees to withdraw its own troops from the Aegean Sea region.

In Ankara, the Turkish Prime inister, Mr Mesut Yilmaz, said he was willing discuss the demilitarisation of Aegean islands with Greece.
