The Government has approved grants of £100,000 to provide winter clothing for children and adults in North Korea, and £50,000 for the victims of flooding in Somalia. The grants were announced by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms Liz O'Donnell. She said Irish officials were travelling to North Korea this weekend to monitor the impact of aid on the country, which is suffering from widespread famine.
