A sugar tax is one of the measures being considered by the Government to tackle rising obesity.
It is "one of a number of issues which is being considered by the Special Action Group on Obesity", Minister for Health Dr James Reilly said in a written Dáil answer. The group was established by Dr Reilly earlier this year to identify issues to help tackle rising obesity levels.
