Freetown - Government forces in Sierra Leone entered Lunsar yesterday, taking control of the strategic town on the road to a major rebel base and the diamond fields of the east, a military spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the British Foreign Secretary, Mr Robin Cook, flew into Sierra Leone last night.

He will begin talks in the capital Freetown tomorrow with President Kabbah and other officials, including the pro-government militia leaders, Mr Johnny Paul Koroma, and Chief Hinga Norman.
