THE British government admitted to parliament yesterday that there was "considerable doubt over assurances it gave last year about what killed a number of animals during the Gulf War.
The move came a week after the Armed Forces Minister, Mr Nicholas Soames, faced down calls for his resignation over a Ministry of Defence inquiry which found "serious flaws" in advice given to ministers, and by them to parliament, about the use of organophosphates (OPs) to protect British troops.
