The whole country is quickly waking up to the realisation that regional tourism is the thing of the future, and so we are seeing more and more counties band together to promote the good things within their boundaries.

The lastest is County Meath Tourism, which has set up the Meath Good Food Circle, a collection of places to eat and stay in the county, and they have issued a smart brochure, Let's Eat Out - The Meath Good Food Guide. Bravely, the group has also classified the establishments, and rated them according to standards of food and service. There are casual daytime places, and a pair of more serious restaurants, as well as B & Bs. This is a welcome venture and you can obtain a brochure from Meath Tourism, tel: (046) 21581.
