A man who stole more than £2,000 worth of golf equipment and other property in a midlands burglary has been remanded on bail for sentence on April 26th next by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Patrick Fizsimons (20), of Bonnvalley Lodge, Athlone, pleaded guilty to burgling the home of Mr Denis White at Moate, Co Westmeath, on January 7th, 1996, and stealing golf clubs, balls and other items to a total value of £2,223.

Fitzsimons also admitted assault with intent to rob on January 2nd and stealing £220 bash on January 7th last. These offences were committed in Dublin.
