RTE's Olympic anchor man Bill O'Herlihy is not flavour of the month in the Department of Foreign Affairs. Last week on two occasions on air, he thanked the Government press secretary Shane Kenny for arranging a passport for young Brian Smith so he could see his sister Michelle triumph in Atlanta.
The last minute fixing was actually taken care of by Tanaiste Dick Spring and his officials in Iveagh House. There is some annoyance.
