Glencar Mining said it found gold mineralisation in eight of the 13 holes drilled at Badogo Malikila in southern Mali.

The best result showed an intersection of eight metres at 2.62 grams per tonne and a further intersection of two metres at 25.20 grams per tonne, the Dublin-based exploration company said.

Glencar also said drilling at the Komana West gold project in southern Mali was suspended on June 12th due to heavy rains.

Elsewhere, Antrim Energy said it has started drilling on the second of two exploration wells at its Medianera licence in central Argentina. Antrim holds a 70 per cent working interest in the licence.

It said the first exploration well has been drilled to target depth and cased in preparation for testing with results expected in early July.

The second well is expected to take about 14 days to drill.
