American sports tycoon Mr Malcolm Glazer said today he had raised his stake in Manchester United to 18.25 per cent.
Manchester United has been the subject of persistent takeover talk as the club's biggest shareholders - Mr Glazer and Irish race horse owners Mr John Magnier and Mr JP McManus - have built up their stakes.
Mr Glazer said last month he had no plans to launch an offer for the world's richest soccer club.
