Louise Cleary (8), of Dun Laoghaire, has been awarded a Girls' Brigade Endurance Award by the International Council of the Girls' Brigade. Louise, who suffers from Sticklers Syndrome, has only 30 per cent of her sight and underwent nine operations to save the remainder.

The national secretary of the Girls' Brigade Ireland, Mrs Joan Darling, presented her with the award at a ceremony at the weekend.
