A 15-year-old girl died in Beaumont hospital this afternoon from injuries received after an assault in Castleknock in Dublin on Friday, November 10th.

Rebecca Kiely from Dublin was struck with a baseball bat during a fight between two men as she was standing near St Brigid's GAA club on the old Navan Road at about 9.30pm that night.

Two men have appeared in Dublin District Court in connection with the assault. Both were charged with Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 and will appear in court again on Monday.
