Car jackers ordered a six-year-old girl out of a vehicle before stealing it in north Belfast last night.

The child was sitting in a blue Mazda 626 on the Cliftonville Road while her father was in a convenience store.

Two men came up to the vehicle, told the girl to get out and drove off.

Police said her father emerged from the shop to find her standing on the pavement. She was badly shaken but uninjured.

Detectives have yet to find the stolen car.
