Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a shooting today in which a girl (6) was injured.

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a shooting today in which a girl (6) was injured.

The shooting happened after 3pm at Lilac Court at the junction of Collins Avenue and South Hill.

The girl was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital, and her injuries are not life threatening.

According to gardaí, it is believed two vehicles were involved, and that the girl was not deliberately targeted.
