A three-and-a-half-year-old girl is critically ill in hospital in Kerry with what are believed to be severe head injuries.
Gardaí are investigating the matter and sealed off a house in the Oakpark district of Tralee yesterday to carry out an examination. They said they were keeping an open mind on how the girl acquired the injuries.
The child is being treated at Kerry General Hospital.
