A 13 year old schoolgirl who was impaled on a spiked fence surrounding a place of part time work has been awarded £15,000 damages in the Circuit Civil Court in Dublin.

Mr John O'Donnell, counsel for Ms Lisa Bowes, of Oliver Bond House, Dublin, told Judge James Carroll that a spike had gone through the girl's thigh. Lisa was doing some part time duties at Statoil's car wash in Usher's Island and fell astride the fence while taking a locally recognised short cut to her home in Oliver Bond Flats.
