The Minister of State for the Marine has promised Government action to prevent further pollution of inland waterways and associated fish kills.

Mr Eamon Gilmore was speaking after a meeting with senior environmental officers from the Central and Regional Fisheries Boards. He said he would review existing legislation, "including penalties which are currently available to deal with pollution".
