A German woman in her twenties died after being struck by a lorry in Carrigaline, Co Cork, this morning.
It is understood the woman struck while she was wheeling a child's buggy across a street in Carrigaline at around 9.30 a.m.
Eyewitnesses said the child was briefly trapped underneath the lorry but was not injured.
It is understood the dead woman was working as an au pair in the area.
