Barry George will appear at the Old Bailey again today accused of murdering TV presenter Jill Dando in April 1999.
Mr George was convicted of her murder in 2001, but the conviction was quashed by the Court of Appeal last month.
Mr George (47), denies shooting Ms Dando outside her home in Fulham, west London, and is expected to plead not guilty.
He is expected to be remanded in custody to face trial next year.
