A truck carryingcooking gas canisters swung into oncoming traffic and crashed into a bus in central Brazil today, killing 19 people, police said.

Two survivors on the bus were hospitalized after accident 250 miles (400 km) from the Brazilian capital, Brasilia.

The truck driver was not injured.

"It could be that the driver of the truck fell asleep at the wheel, but we can't confirm that," a policeman said.
