The value of an initial drugs find worth €200,000 in Co Donegal is expected to increase after follow-up investigations led gardaí to a sophisticated cannabis factory outside Buncrana.

About €190,000 in herbal cannabis was discovered in a vehicle which was stopped in the village of Burnfoot on Sunday. The driver of the vehicle was arrested along with two other men, all Chinese nationals. All three were detained at Buncrana Garda station.

Supt Kevin English said follow-up searches took place on a house outside Buncrana where “a highly-sophisticated cannabis cultivation factory was discovered”.
